UN PEACE PAVILION |
“Development For Peace - The UN System in Action”
| Global efforts to build a more peaceful and prosperous world are
portrayed in the United Nations Peace Pavilion, through which the United
Nations and its related organizations and agencies, 30 in all, are
participating in the Tsukuba Expo. The UN Peace Pavilion at Expo '85 can be
seen as a symbol of the hopes and aspirations of "we, the people f the United
Nations," in whose name the UN Charter was written. It's opening time for Expo and the crowds are racing in at the North Gate entrance - and passing right by the UN Peace Pavilion in the background. If they stopped back later they could see exhibits on the UN's efforts to promote peace, end famine and help build housing. (CD #3 Set 5 #15) |
